Brevard County-based Doctors Goodwill Foundation continues to reach out and help at home and abroad as DGF Executive Director Naren Shah participated in a free medical one day camp on February 22 in India.
More than 500 patients participated from 10 different villages,within 30 kilometers of the camp location.
Ten doctors volunteered their time and talent to provide the free services.
The extremely grateful patients received treatment and care with problems with ENT, dental, skin, orthopedic, gynecology, and children’s diseases.
The camp was announced 12 months in advance of its arrival throughout 10 villages and 10 rickshaws were employed on the day to bring patients from far and wide.

“It is amazing to see and witness the tremendous impact that Brevard’s Doctors Goodwill Foundation is having,” said Naren Shah.
“I want to let everyone back in Brevard know that we are representing the Space Coast with great honor and pride.”
All patients were also provided with free drugs and free corrective glasses. More than 60 follow up sessions were also provided, including hospital referrals.
“Located in Amrabhaina Muvada, Gujarat, Dehgam, India, the annual medical camp was administered by the Lion’s Club of India and Lions Club Sola, and funded by the Trust of Dr. Arvind and Bharti, and supplemented by the Doctors Goodwill Foundation,” said Shah.
“Most of these patients have never had any medical treatment in their entire lives. Most of the patients never had any medicine before and most of the patients could not afford to travel.”

Since it’s inception, the Doctors Goodwill Foundation has raised more than $1,500,000 for charities both in Brevard and around the world.
One of Brevard’s most prolific philanthropic organizations, the DGF’s mission is to provide medical assistance in Brevard and around the world to those in need, and offer scholarships to students pursuing a career in health care.
The Doctors Goodwill Foundation is led by some of the most active and philanthropically-minded members of the Brevard medical community, including executive officers Kantilal Bhalani MD (founder), Naren Shah, MS, SCORE (executive director), Kiran Modi, MD (treasurer), Sumant Pandya, MD (chairperson), and Denis Perez, MD (secretary).
