Negron has spent 12 years with the Palm Bay Police Department, building a diverse career that has included assignments in patrol, investigations, special operations, and tactical response.
BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA — The Palm Bay Police Department has announced the promotion of Jorge Negron to the rank of sergeant, recognizing his 14 years of law enforcement experience and extensive service within the department.
Negron has spent 12 years with the Palm Bay Police Department, building a diverse career that has included assignments in patrol, investigations, special operations, and tactical response.
Throughout his tenure, he has served as a patrol officer, detective, special investigations agent, special investigations corporal, DEA Task Force Officer, Field Training Officer, Field Training Officer Coordinator, and patrol corporal.
In addition to his numerous assignments, Negron currently serves as a team leader on the department’s SWAT team, a role that requires advanced tactical training and leadership during high-risk operations.
Department officials highlighted the breadth of Negron’s experience as a key factor in his promotion.
His career has included responsibilities ranging from training and mentoring new officers to conducting complex investigations and supporting federal drug enforcement efforts as a DEA Task Force Officer.
Negron also holds a degree in criminal justice, further strengthening the knowledge and leadership skills he brings to his new position.
As a sergeant, Negron will be assigned to one of the department’s patrol districts, where he will oversee officers, coordinate patrol operations, and help ensure public safety throughout the community.
The promotion is part of a series of recent leadership announcements within the Palm Bay Police Department as the agency continues to recognize personnel for their service, experience, and commitment to law enforcement.
