BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The balls will fall on March 13, 2015.

That’s the date for the 12th annual Chopper Dropper, the key event at Florida Institute of Technology’s biggest fundraiser for athletics scholarships, the annual Sporting Affair XXIII held at Suntree Country Club.

Featuring a golf tournament, hole in one shootout, silent auction, cocktail party, great food and more, Sporting Affair XXIII offers a full day of thrilling events and activities to benefit Florida Tech’s 22 sports programs and more than 550 student-athletes.

Last year’s Sporting Affair grossed more than $500,000 from athletic partners, golf teams and hole sponsors, in-kind donations and, of course, Chopper Dropper ticket sales.

There are only 2,000 of those $100 tickets sold, with each corresponding to a numbered golf ball. All of the golf balls are dropped out of a helicopter hovering over a golf hole and flagstick, and the closest ball to the cup wins the $50,000 grand prize. There is a $10,000 second-place prize and 15 $1,000 winners, as well.
