Four Panthers Selected To All-SSC Women’s Lacrosse Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After an impressive inaugural season, Florida Tech women’s lacrosse has even more to be proud of, as the Sunshine State Conference announced its All-SSC Women’s Lacrosse Team on Tuesday.
Allie Modica and Sara Grenier were named to the 2015 All-SSC First Team, while Mary Gormley and Allie Wood were selected to the All-SSC Second Team.
Modica, a sophomore midfielder from Vero Beach, Florida, is tied for first on the team in points (68) and draw controls (57) this season. She led the SSC in groundballs (54) and is tied for fifth in total points and fourth in draw controls.
A freshman attacker out of Oakland, Maine, Grenier is tied with Modica in points (68) after scoring a team-leading 60 goals. She is seventh in the nation and third in the SSC in goals. Grenier ranks ninth in Division II and second in the conference in goals per game.
Gormley, a freshman midfielder from Denver, Colorado, is fourth on Florida Tech in points (41) after recording 26 goals and 15 assists. She ranks third in the SSC in groundballs (45) and tied with Modica for fourth in draw controls.
A freshman defender out of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, Wood is third on the team in groundballs (39) and tied for third in caused turnovers (18). She scored three goals and dished out one assist this season.
Voting for the All-SSC Women’s Lacrosse Team was conducted among the league’s women’s coaches.
