Florida Tech’s Ricardo Corona Earns All-Sunshine State Conference For Tennis

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s tennis freshman Ricardo Corona has been named to the Second Team All-SSC Singles Team, it was announced on Friday by the conference office.
Corona is the lone Panther to receive all-conference recognition after registering a 17-3 record during the spring duals season. The Mexico native went 4-1 in conference action during his freshman campaign.
Corona primarily played at the No. 5 spot for the Panthers, where he dominated with a 12-1 mark.
He was also undefeated in the No. 6 slot, posting a 5-0 record.
He is one of just three freshmen to be named All-SSC on the men’s side, joining Lynn’s Fernando Rivas, who garnered first team honors, and Barry’s Dominik Haider, who was the freshman of the year and a second team honoree.
