BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA — The Brevard Humane Society is inviting the community to an unforgettable evening of elegance, entertainment, and philanthropy during its 15th Annual Tuxes & Tails Gala: “Wicked Fur Good,” presented by Subaru of Melbourne, on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The signature fundraising event will take place at Radisson Resort at the Port located at 8701 Astronaut Blvd. in Cape Canaveral and will bring together animal lovers, community leaders, and supporters for a magical evening dedicated to giving homeless pets a second chance.
Inspired by the beloved Broadway musical Wicked, this year’s gala promises an enchanting atmosphere while raising critical funds to support the Brevard Humane Society’s lifesaving programs.
Hosted by Tom and Susie Wasdin and the Wasdin Family, the evening will feature Mindy from Lite Rock 99.3’s “Mindy & Company” serving as emcee, along with live entertainment, spectacular Cirque-style acrobatics, performances by the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse, an elegant dinner, and a high-energy live auction benefiting homeless animals throughout Brevard County.
For 74 years, the Brevard Humane Society has provided shelter, medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for thousands of animals in need. Proceeds from the annual gala help fund these essential programs, ensuring pets receive the care they deserve while waiting for their forever homes.
The organization notes that only 9 cents of every dollar donated goes toward administrative expenses, allowing the vast majority of contributions to directly support animal care and lifesaving services.
