Man In Cocoa Shoots Brother, Charged With Aggravated Battery/ Domestic Violence

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 23-year-old Aaron Calhoun for shooting his brother during an argument at their residence yesterday afternoon.
Calhoun was charged with Aggravated Battery/Domestic Violence and is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on No Bond.
The victim, 21-year-old Irving Braithwate, sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and is expected to survive his injuries.
The investigation began after the victim was brought to a local Fire Station in Cocoa by friends for treatment of his injuries.
The investigation determined that the victim and suspect became involved in an argument at their residence on Sun Dial Court.
During the argument, Calhoun picked up a firearm and shot at the victim striking him in both legs, according to investigators.
After the shooting, Calhoun waited at the residence for the arrival of deputies. Crime scene investigators worked into the night collecting evidence at the residence.
