BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA – The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the newly renovated Oasis Bar and Grill in Historic Cocoa Village, located at 200 Willard Street, will take place on June 25 starting at 5 p.m.
Onsite parking is available in the large lot on the west side of the building.
This newest addition to the Cocoa Village hospitality scene has recently undergone a much-anticipated face lift to its interior and new additions to the menu, prompting owners Al Zimmerman and Phil Niosi to commemorate the upgrades by throwing a great party that will include food, drinks, raffle items and a 50/50 drawing.
The Grand Opening festivites will benefit the Ranger Assistance Foundation (RAF), a cause which is close to the heart of Zimmerman, a former Army Ranger.
“The purpose of the RAF is, in part, to provide immediate assistance to fallen Rangers during their rehabilitation and to complement existing Army programs in assisting families of Rangers with various expenses incurred by them while helping those Rangers in rehabilitation,” said Zimmerman.
Zimmerman and his partner, Phil Niosi, worked closely together at DRS Technologies in Melbourne and often talked about opening a business together upon retirement.
The opportunity arose early in 2014 and the Oasis Bar and Grill opened its doors to the public last September.
“I just want to have a nice neighborhood bar with good food and drinks in a likable atmosphere,” Zimmerman said.
