BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Cocoa men in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the area of Virginia Avenue in the unincorporated area of Cocoa Sunday morning at about 11 a.m. 

According to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the victims were a 51-year-old male and 32-year-old female, who reported that two white male suspects, later identified as 30-year-old Daryl Brigman and 25-year-old David Solway, approached their vehicle with a gun and demanded money.

A struggle ensued and the suspect’s gun discharged, but did not strike anyone.

The suspects then physically battered the male victim and left the area in a red Nissan SUV.

The suspect’s vehicle crashed into a nearby home causing minimal damage, and then both fled on foot where Solway crawled under a residence in an attempt to hide from Deputies, and Brigman fled on foot, according to Cpl. Jacobs.

Deputies located Brigman a short time later where he was taken into custody without incident. The Sheriff’s Office SWAT team responded and assisted in apprehending Solway from under the residence.

Brigman, who was out on bond from a previous arrest, was charged with Robbery with a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

CRIMELINE-580-2Soloway, who had an active warrant for arrest for Failure to Appear, was arrested and charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.

Both Brigman and Soloway are being held in the Brevard County Jail without Bond.
