UCF Football Around the Corner, Important Dates Ahead

ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCFKnights.com) – This week, UCF began diving into meetings and finalizing its plans for 2015 preseason camp.
The Knights are looking forward to starting practices Aug. 5, but there are a lot of other dates to focus on as well.
Aug. 2-4
-Interim A.D. and Head Coach George O’Leary will travel to Rhode Island for American Athletic Conference Media Days as the athletic directors will hold meetings in Newport. On Aug. 3, senior defensive end Thomas Niles and sophomore wide receiver Jordan Akins will fly up to represent the Knights.
Aug. 4
-All student-athletes report for camp in the evening.
Aug. 5
-Preseason camp begins.
-With new coordinators this fall, preseason practices from Aug. 5-20 will be closed.
Aug. 21
-Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon at CFE Arena, with registration starting at 11 a.m.
-Open practice from 3:20-5:30 p.m. (fans are reminded that cameras and phones are not permitted).
-UCF Football FanFest at Bright House Networks Stadium from 6-8 p.m.
Sept. 3
-2015 season opener: UCF hosts FIU at 6 p.m.
