BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Last week, Viera High School hosted the AAU Boys 11U National Basketball Championship.

On July 12-18, the week long tournament attracted over 80 teams that competed in two divisions.

Josh Borne, the vice president at SportsNetworkLive.com and national media director at Space Coast Sports Promotions, brought his film crew to Viera High School to broadcast the games LIVE on Sports Network Live and Space Coast Daily for family and friends of the players who couldn’t make it to the games.

“Teams came from L.A., Washington, New York, Connecticut and all over the Southeast. Competition was outstanding,” said Borne.

“Everyone represented very well their home area and it has been a great event.”

Players and their families enjoyed the many attractions Brevard County has to offer, including the Brevard Zoo, Ron Jon Surf Shop and the beautiful beaches.

“It’s a great destination for sporting events,” Steve Slupsky of the AAU said.

“You have your event and you have activities outside the event that parents and participants can take full advantage of.”

Slupsky mentioned that the event will be returning to Brevard County next year.
