COCOA BEACH • BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach, in conjunction with Brevard County, will begin dredging the Brightwaters / North Dorset and South Dorset / Carmine residential canals next week, the city announced in a news release.

The project is scheduled to start on or near April 11.

The city warns that these canals will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for about six to 10 weeks.

If residents find it “absolutely necessary” to open a canal for a vessel, the city asks residents to call 321-868-3215 at least 24 hours in advance.
