BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – While many Americans are freaking out about completing their taxes before the weekend, hundreds of Brevard comic book fans and collectors of novelties will be “geeking out” for the Space Coast Nerd Fest 2016 Convention, at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place in Melbourne, April 16-17.

The festival celebrates all things “nerd,” from comic books to Star Wars and all of the games, movies and shows that are commonly associated with passionate followers.

Both vendors and attendees alike attend to meet fellow fans of niche hobbies, interests in collections. Viera resident Stacy Trenary, founder of “Darwin and Wallace” fossil store, is excited to debut his traveling store at Nerd Fest.

“Nerd Fest gives like-minded fans in our area the chance to come together and geek-out without having to drive to Orlando,” he said.

“I’m also looking forward to meeting lots of fossil, oddity, and nature enthusiasts as well, and will hopefully provide them with something unique for their collections.”

Trenary’s extensive collection features not only  ancient artifacts such as dinosaur bones, but an “oddities” section with unique items such as a preserved two-headed snake and rare bugs that have been through taxidermy.
