BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Merritt Island Little League defeated Port St. John Little League 24-1 in the District 22 All-Star 8-10 Division championship game Monday night at Merritt Island’s Jim Hensley Park.

Port St. John’s Nick Wimberly scored in the 1st run of the game.

For Merritt Island, David Burns went 2-for-2 and scored 2 runs, Aiden Fowkes added 2 doubles and scored 3 runs, Jeffrey Almeda scored 4 runs, and Noah Knight was 5-for-5 with a single, a double and 3 triples plus 5 runs scored as Merritt Island won the game 24-1 in 4 innings.

With the win, Merritt Island Little League claimed the District 22 Champion title and moves on to the Florida Section 3 tournament scheduled for Saturday, July 9, against the championship teams from District 11 and District 19.
