Clinton Loses Ground In Wake of Wikileaks

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Donald Trump easily defeated Hillary Clinton by a margin of 31 points in the Space Coast Daily straw poll, finishing with 55 percent of the vote, compared to Hillary Clinton’s 24 percent.
Clinton’s drop in both national and local polling came within one week of Wikileaks’ revelation of emails regarding Clinton Foundation donors who met with then Secretary of State Clinton.
While Trump’s rise past 50 percent and Clinton’s drop to 24 percent are each notable shifts from recent polling, perhaps the most surprising trend in the our straw poll was the emergence of the newest candidate in the 2016 race: Evan McMullin, who finished in third place with 13 percent of the vote.
McMullin is a former counter-terrorism CIA Officer who served as a senior adviser on national security issues for the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Among other third-party candidates, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson finished with eight percent of the voters polled, followed by Green Party Candidate Jill Stein, who finished with one percent.
Johnson will be on at least 46 of the 50 states’ ballots. McMullin will be on at least 12 state ballots and is currently working to gain access to additional states’ ballots by filling candidate vacancies offered from third parties, such as the Better for America Party, the Independence Party of Minnesota and write-in petition drives.
While online straw polls aren’t scientific, it should be noted the voters polled in this straw poll were verified as non-duplicate voters.
