UPDATE: Cocoa Police Arrest 16-Year-Old After Shooting Victim Multiple Times Tuesday Night

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police have arrested a 16-year-old for the shooting of a 14-year-old and is in custody facing an attempted murder charge for the shooting Tuesday evening, according to a spokesperson with the Cocoa Police Department.
Police say the suspect was arrested this morning at his home in Rockledge.
According to several witnesses, the suspect shot the victim multiple times at Anderson Park, on the 500 block of N. Fiske Blvd. at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
The victim is described as 14-year-old male whose identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
The victim was shot multiple times and is listed in stable condition at the hospital.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear however detectives say the suspect and the victim are familiar with each other.
The investigation is ongoing.
