UPDATE: Man In Monday’s Deadly Motorcycle Crash In Cocoa Identified By FHP

UPDATE – The man killed in Monday’s deadly motorcycle crash in Cocoa has been identified as 67-year-old Charles Gartrell from Cape Canaveral. The victim was not wearing a helmet, according to FHP.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol has released more details into Monday’s deadly motorcycle crash in Cocoa near Adamson Rd. and State Road 524.
At around 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, a 17-year-old woman in a 2004 Audi was traveling eastbound on State Road 524 when a car in front of her reportedly slowed down approaching Adamson Rd. for an unknown reason.
The result made the woman veer into westbound lanes of State Road 524 where a 67-year-old man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was struck, ejecting the man off the bike.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene when troopers arrived.
The identify of the man has not been released until the family has been notified.
The woman driving the vehicle was transported to Wuesthoff Hospital with minor injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident and charges are pending.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are on scene of a fatal crash in central Brevard County on Adamson Road and State Road 524.
One male has been pronounced deceased on scene and there is roadblock in the intersection.
According to Sgt. Kim Montes, Public Affairs Officer of the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. and involved a vehicle vs. a motorcycle.
