Spokesman Issues apology for insensitive display

(YAHOO) – Here’s a really — really — bad way to honor the victims of 9/11.
A Walmart store in Florida has taken down a large display of Coke products that depicted the doomed Twin Towers at the World Trade Center after a Twitter user posted a photo of it.
A large banner showing the skyline of lower Manhattan with the Twin Towers hung over two pillars made up of stacked cartons of Coke Zero, with the words “We Will Never Forget.”
The banner, carrying the logos of Coca-Cola and Walmart, also said “9-11-01,” the date of the terror attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in Manhattan, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 15 years ago Sunday.
“This display was meant to honor local firefighters and to support their organization’s upcoming event.” – Coca Cola Representative
Right below that banner was another sign saying, “Rollback $3.33,” referring to special price for the the Coke Zero, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and other soft drink cartons that comprised the boneheaded display.
“Florida c’mon man,” tweeted @online_shawn on Tuesday after snapping a photo of the arrangement.
The tweet has been retweeted more than 2,500 times, and favorited more than 4,000 times.
