Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Holds 1st Annual Golf Tournament At Turtle Creek

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Grandparents Raising Grandchildren held their 1st Annual Golf Tournament on 9/24/16 at Turtle Creek Golf Club in Rockledge Florida.
With 80 Golfers in attendance and a break from the rainy weather, the outing is being touted as a huge success! The Proctor Family sponsored the Gold Level.
Holes were sponsored by several GRG members, community leader County Commissioner Curt Smith, Brevard companies Slug-A-Bug Pest Control and Cocoa Hyundai, Quarno’s Auto Salvage, MCS Courier Service and Proctor Consulting.
Door Prizes were donated by many local companies such as Uno’s Chicago Grill, The Melting Pot, US1 Golf, Tangles on the Island – Jessica Chambers, Ron Jon Surf Shop, CocoKey Water Resort, Terry’s Barber Shop, SkyZone Trampoline Park, Sonny’s BBQ and Slug-A-Bug Pest Control.

Golf Package Prizes were donated by Turtle Creek Golf Club. Disney World, Sea World and Aquatica donated 4-packs of day passes for drawings. Thanks to this overwhelming support, early totals indicate over $6000 was raised to benefit the Child First Program needs of the agency.
Golfers were entertained by a few challenges during their round by Dixon Golf. Lunch was a delicious BBQ platter in Jimmies Restaurant while the awards were announced.
In addition to many great door prizes, there was also a drawing for three big prizes: 4-pack of one day passes to Disney World, Sea World and Aquatica.
Many golfers indicated they would certainly join us again for the 2nd Annual Golf Outing in 2017.
The mission of the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren of Brevard County, FL, Inc. (GRG) is to support relative caregivers throughout Brevard County in achieving Safety, Permanency, & Well-Being for their families through education, advocacy and community collaboration.
Our vision is that one day all children will live in a safe loving home with relatives that will help them to develop into their full potential. Living in a place you can call home and knowing that someone will always be there for you is something everyone needs, especially children.
