BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue issued the following about the death of former BCFR member Ron Johnson:

The Department was saddened to learn of the passing of former BCFR member Ron Johnson. Ron served the citizens of Brevard County with dedication and compassion for 30 years.

During his career with BCFR, Ron contributed in a wide range of positions, including field EMT and Paramedic, Logistics, E911 Dispatcher and EMS Captain.

While serving as our EMS Captain, Ron Johnson provided steady and focused leadership during a period of significant change in pre-hospital emergency medicine and major advancements in EMS medical hardware technology.

Ron was a kind man whose calling card was his smile and his willingness to help others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him; our deepest sympathy to his family during this difficult time.
