BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Parks and Recreation, Central Area Operations, will offer an American Red Cross Babysitter Training Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 10-14, at Kiwanis Island Park Community Center, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, Merritt Island.
Training is open to both girls and boys ages 11 years old and up.
Participants will gain confidence, skills, and knowledge to respond to emergencies and illnesses with First Aid and CPR.
The participants will also learn to make decisions under pressure; communicate with parents; learn to feed, change diapers and care for infants; and how to market oneself for babysitting jobs.
The cost to participate is $100 and the fee covers books, material and American Red Cross certification in First Aid and Child/Infant CPR.
Pre-registration is required with a minimum of eight participants to hold the camp.
Lunch will not be included; participants must bring their own lunch.
