BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Police officers from Melbourne Police Department, West Melbourne Police Department and Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call early Sunday morning from the security guard at Renningers Flea Market on 4835 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., who saw three masked suspects enter the closed flea market, according to Lt. T.A. Turner of the Melbourne Police Department.
Authorities say a perimeter was quickly established which resulted in the apprehension of two suspects fleeing the area, with a third suspect hiding in a adjacent field northwest of the flea market.
The suspects arrested are identified as 17-year-old Jacob Jaroma, 17-year-old Zachary Nahass and 17-year-old Christopher Silva. All of the suspects were charged with Armed Burglary while Wearing a Mask and Grand Theft.
In the preliminary investigation, two backpacks containing numerous stolen knives and bladed instruments were recovered.
Two fishing face cover-ups were recovered on two of the arrested suspects and a discarded Halloween mask was recovered near the third suspect, along with a large machete style knife in the field.
The three detained suspects were cooperative and admitted to entering the flea market while masked and stealing the pictured knives recovered from the back packs and in the field.
