Melbourne Police Arrests Two Men For Illegal Drugs and Stolen Property Charges

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested two men after an investigation into the sale of illegal drugs near the 600 block of Washburn Rd. in Melbourne.

During the course of the investigation, officers from the Melbourne Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle involved in trafficking stolen property leaving 611 Washburn Rd.

Police then arrested 29-year-old Daniel Dawson, from Palm Bay, for driving with a suspended license and several illegal
drug charges.

Dawson was charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of crack cocaine, possession of Oxycodone, possession of hydromorphone, possession of heroin, possession of alprazolam and felony possession of a controlled substance in motor vehicle.

Dawson’s bond is set at $19,000.

Agents with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene where additional stolen property items were recovered from the warehouse shop area.

As a result, police confiscated more suspected stolen property that was located inside the unit.

Police arrested 47-year-old Alan Smyth, from Melbourne, for the drugs in the shop and charged him with possession of crack cocaine, possession of Oxycodone, possession of hydromorphone, possession of heroin, and possession of alprazolam.
