ABOVE VIDEO: Cocoa Beach native and Fox 35 reporter Derrol Nail FOX 35 did this great piece about how a dog managed to escape the powerful grip of an alligator’s jaws. The veterinarians and staff at Courtenay Animal Hospital helped the pup recover from her potentially fatal injuries.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Alligators either swallow their prey whole, or drag it under the water to eat at a later time.

A six month old puppy named Chloe was supposed to be such a meal when an alligator clamped down on the unsuspecting dog while she was in her owner’s backyard.
