BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Space Coast Iceplex family is mourning the loss of longtime coach Sharon Martens, whose dedication and passion for figure skating left a lasting impact on generations of athletes over nearly three decades.
For almost 30 years, Martens was a cornerstone of the Iceplex community, serving as a coach, mentor and friend to countless skaters.
Her patience, kindness and unwavering commitment helped shape the lives of those who stepped onto the ice, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
In a heartfelt tribute, the Iceplex expressed its deepest condolences to Martens’ family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched throughout her remarkable career.
“Thank you, Sharon, for your years of devotion. You will be greatly missed and forever remembered with love and gratitude,” the Iceplex said in its statement.
