SPACE COAST DAILY TV: Brevardians celebrate America during the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Included in the inspiring and emotional festivities was a keynote speech by retired Col. Danny McKnight of Rockledge, and the swearing in of Merritt Island High School grad Tim Wieckowski as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Wieckowski is a recent graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Celebrate America at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 10 am.

The keynote speaker was retired Col. Danny McKnight, and there was an Alternative Gift Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Veterans Memorial Center is located at 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway, on Merritt Island.

Celebrate America at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 10 am.

Events also include:

  • New library and technology center with 7,000 volumes and 51 veteran history project videos
  • New veteran-operated sales store in the museum
  • Introduction of 82-acre Veterans Memorial Park featuring walking, fishing, military-themed playground, picnic, kayak, canoes and paddle boards
  • Updated and expanded Memorial Plaza

An estimated 500-plus people along with dignitaries, elected officials and community leaders are expected to attend this event.
