U.S. Coast Guard Airlifts Woman With Medical Emergency From Carnival Cruise Ship Saturday

The U.S. Coast Guard dispatched an Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter crew to airlift a 71-year-old woman off the Carnival Liberty cruise ship that was en route to Port Canaveral Saturday.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The U.S. Coast Guard dispatched an Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter crew to airlift a 71-year-old woman off the Carnival Liberty cruise ship that was en route to Port Canaveral Saturday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Seventh District Command Center received a request from the cruise ship for the medevac stating the passenger was reportedly suffering from stroke-like symptoms.

The Coast Guard launched an Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter crew.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 7 p.m. and safely transferred the patient aboard the helicopter.

She will be transported to Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas.
