BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — Multi-platinum country music star Josh Turner will bring his “This Country Music Thing Tour” to the King Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, with special guest Payton Smith.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., with tickets now available through the King Center box office.

More than two decades after launching his career with the breakthrough hit “Long Black Train,” Turner continues to be one of country music’s most recognizable traditional artists.

Known for his unmistakable deep bass voice and commitment to classic country roots, the South Carolina native has built a career by staying true to his musical style while continuing to evolve as an artist.

The tour supports Turner’s 10th studio album, This Country Music Thing, which reflects his enduring passion for preserving the traditions of country music while bringing a fresh perspective to the genre.

“This is who I am. This is who I was born to be — it’s something that feeds me and fulfills me, and I’ve never lost my love for this,” Turner said. “When I first started, my goal was to just be myself and sing songs that meant something to me. To keep the tradition of country alive, but at the same time, make it fresh, make it new.”

Turner’s career began with a memorable performance at the Grand Ole Opry in 2001, where his performance of “Long Black Train” earned a rare encore from the audience and helped launch him into country music stardom.

Since then, Turner has remained one of Nashville’s premier traditional country artists, blending classic country, gospel and Appalachian influences into a signature sound that has resonated with fans for more than 20 years.

Fans attending the Melbourne stop can expect an evening featuring many of Turner’s biggest hits alongside songs from his latest album, with rising country artist Payton Smith opening the show.
