Carolyn ‘Lynn’ Kowalske Passed Away Feb. 26 at Age 86, Was Teacher at Central Jr. High for 25 Years

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Carolyn “Lynn” Kowalske, age 86, passed away on Monday, February 26. Lynn was born March 1, 1931, in Kharagpur, India, to the late Reverend Charles and Ethel Roadarmel (Nicholas). Her parents were missionaries, and she grew up in India.
She came to the United States when she was 15 to attend Grandville High School and graduated in just one year at the age of 16. She then went on to graduate from College of Wooster in Ohio with her Bachelor of Arts degree.
She was a teacher at Central Jr. High School for 25 years, teaching English, French and Spanish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Kowalske, and her brother, Gordon. She is survived by her sons, Kenn (Pattie) and Keith Kowalske (Renee); daughters, Kerry Hanke (Mark) and Karen Kowalske; brother, Norman Roadarmel; grandchildren, Sarah Hanke Field, Josh Hanke (Amanda), Amber Kowalske Kulis (Tim), Taylor Kowalske, and Brandon, Chris, Alex and Nick Kowalske; and great grandchildren, Ty, Ally, Ryder and Marley.
Lynn enjoyed playing bridge with her fellow teachers at Central Jr. High every week. She was an avid reader and Florida “Gator” fan and was a season ticket holder for more than 50 years. She enjoyed playing piano and traveled around the United States with her husband when they retired, collecting antique cruets.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church, 2820 Business Center Blvd., Melbourne, Florida, with Dr. Jeff Hoy officiating.
