City of Cape Canaveral Set To Open 2018 Space Coast Little League Season March 9

The City of Cape Canaveral will be kicking off the Space Coast Little League’s 2018 season on Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. with free outdoor showing of the classic family throwback film, The Sandlot, on the ballfields of Canaveral City Park located at 7920 Orange Avenue.

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The City of Cape Canaveral will be kicking off the Space Coast Little League’s 2018 season with two events celebrating the community’s commitment to engaging youth in sports and healthy lifestyle activities.

The celebration kicks off on Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. with free outdoor showing of the classic family throwback film, The Sandlot, on the ballfields of Canaveral City Park located at 7920 Orange Avenue.

The celebration continues Saturday morning, March 10 with the Space Coast Little League Opening Day Parade that will begin at Veterans Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. located at 265 Polk Avenue.

Led by the City’s First Responders, the parade will march north on Orange Avenue and end at the Little League Ballfield at Canaveral City Park.

The league’s first game will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Honorable Mayor Bob Hoog throwing out the first pitch.

Food, concession snacks and drinks will be available for purchase and there will be free games and activities throughout.

This event is for all ages and admission is free.
