Peach Belt Conference Names 8 from Florida Tech to All-Academic Teams in Track and Field

Kraska AND Cameron earn PERFECT 4.0 GPA's

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA– The Peach Belt Conference recently announced its men’s and women’s Track & Field All-Academic Teams and Florida Tech had seven male and five female student-athletes honored for their success in the classroom.
In total, 92 student-athletes were named to the PBC All-Academic Teams.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Representing the Crimson & Gray on the men’s side are Joseph Berg (Aerospace Engineering), Nicardo Cameron (Biotechnology), Christopher Daniele (Aerospace Engineering), Lukas Hassler(Sport Management), Matthew Kraska (Biomedical Engineering), Tyler McCabe (Astronomy and Astrophysics) and Tucker Melles (Astrobiology).
Appearing on the women’s All-Academic Team are Maia Carter (Biomedical Engineering), Marina DeBiasi (Chemical Engineering), Genevieve Lucas (Biomedical Science), Casey Orlando (Psychology) and Alexis Santiago (Psychology).
Cameron and Kraska boast perfect 4.0 grade point averages in their respective majors, while McCabe was bestowed the Peach Belt’s 2018 Elite 15 Award presented by EAB for the second year in a row.
The Elite 15 recognition is awarded to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at each of the league’s 15 championships.
