BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former student of DeLaura Middle Jeremy LeBrun returns to the school as principal.
LeBrun has been with Brevard Public Schools for 10 years. He taught at Southwest Middle, was a dean at Merritt Island High and has been the assistant principal for curriculum at Merritt Island High for the past three years.
“It is a dream come true to be able to return to my hometown and lead a school like DeLaura,” said LeBrun.
“When I began working toward a principalship 10 years ago, DeLaura was always my number one choice. This is the school where I had that one great teacher who inspired me to get into the education field and ensure that all students have an optimal learning environment.”
“This is one of the only professions where you have the chance to change a child’s life every single day you walk into the building,” he said. “I know what an enormous amount of faith it takes to let someone else watch over your children. I am committed to making sure that all students feel safe, receive quality instruction each day and feel supported during these transitional years.”
LeBrun earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida.
He also attended Brevard Public Schools’ Sea Park Elementary and Satellite High in Satellite Beach.
He lives in Indialantic with his wife, who was a district teacher for eight years, and their two children.
