Indian River City Pitchers Cayton Moore and Nick Mackiewicz Combine for No-Hitter
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Florida District 22 All-Stars kicked off Friday night with the Senior League baseball division at W. W. James Park in Titusville, with the visiting team from Cocoa taking on the home team from Indian River City.
The visitors from Cocoa, a combined team made up of players from Cocoa, Port St. John and Rockledge Little Leagues, affectionately called the “Stars and Stripes,” had little luck in the opening game.
After a two-and-a-half hour lightning delay, Indian River City took Game 1, winning 15-0.
The Stars and Stripes were blanked by Indian River City pitchers Cayton Moore and Nick Mackiewicz, who combined for 8 strikeouts and no hits.
Mason Urich and Robbie O’Bryan each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, while Moore and Collin Brock went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs to power the Indian River City offense.
Game 2 of the Senior League tournament will feature the same two teams on Saturday morning.
