BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– The District 22 Little League Majors Baseball division tournament concluded Thursday night at Space Coast Park with the visitors from Port St. John taking on the home team from Rockledge.

Rockledge pitcher Kaden Canida was dominant on the mound, leading his team to a 7-0 win over Port St. John, who upset Merritt Island to reach the championship game.

Canida tossed a complete game, allowing just one hit. He struck out 15 batters over six innings to lead his team to the Majors District 22 championship.

Jacob Loeffler managed the only hit for Port St. John, a second-inning single, but he was stranded on base and did not score.

Rockledge’s lineup got contributions from top to bottom as everyone hit the ball throughout the tournament.

Jacob Phelps went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Christian Maynard added two hits for Rockledge.

Canida helped his cause on the hill by driving in a run at the plate. Bryce Turner also recorded an RBI in the contest.

Rockledge will advance to represent District 22 in the Section 3 tournament in Palm Coast starting on July 14.
