Three Lady Panthers Named to the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-America Teams

Bonavila, Pala named to All-America first team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Three members of Florida Tech’s women’s rowing team have been named to the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-America Teams.

Two Panthers, Natalia Arasa Bonavila, and Federica Pala, were named to the All-America first team while Svetlana Ristin earned a place on the second team.

Bonavila and Pala garnered selections to the first team for the second year in a row. This is Ristin’s first All-America nod.

All three Panthers were a member of the FIT varsity eight that won the Sunshine State Conference Championship before earning the bronze medal at the NCAA Championships.

Each year the coaches of the CRCA recognize the outstanding student-athletes in each Division. Criteria for the award include:

  • The student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution.
  • The student-athlete must have rowed at least 75% of the season’s races in the varsity boat
  • The student-athlete must be nominated by her institution
  • The Head Coach of the student-athletes institution must be a member in good standing of the CRCA.

All-American athletes are selected from those athletes already named First Team All-Region.

Criteria considered for selection include boat performance, nomination rank, coach’s comments, individual achievements, and 2k erg score. One coxswain is named to each team.
