ABOVE VIDEO: A Canadian couple’s dramatic – if dreadful – attempt to escape arrest from an Edmonton, Canada convenience store was captured on surveillance cameras.

(CTV EDMONTON) – Surveillance video obtained by CTV News shows a woman attempting to evade police in a Spruce Grove convenience store, by trying to climb into the ceiling panels, eventually crashing back into the store.

On Monday after 1:15 p.m., a Royal Canadien Mounted Police officer was called to the Spruce Grove Reddi Mart in Edmonton, Canada after a man allegedly tried to make a purchase using stolen credit cards.

Store owner Bhagwant Chauhan said he tried to buy a can of pop with the card.

“My husband asked him if he can punch the PIN number, he said it’s not his card, it’s his girlfriend’s,” Chauhan said.

Chauhan said the couple had been hanging around outside their store for hours before the incident.

At the store, the officer tried to arrest the pair, but the man pushed the woman towards the officer and tried to escape.
