POLICE: driver lost control of the vehicle unintentionally

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A juvenile driver was hospitalized after she crashed into a home causing significant damage. The homeowner, who was home at the time of the crash, was not injured.
According to the Titusville police, just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, a 2003 Volkswagen Passat, driven by Sarah Horvath, 17, of Titusville, was traveling east on St. Marks Drive when it accelerated through the intersection at Winchester Drive and crashed into the garage door of the home at 4835 Winchester Drive.
The Passat crashed through the closed garage door of the home and pushed a vehicle that had been parked inside into an interior wall. That impact resulted in burst pipes and water damage.
The driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The sole occupant of the home, an elderly Titusville man, was not injured.
The driver and homeowner do not know each other and it appears at this time that the driver lost control of the vehicle unintentionally.
The crash remains under investigation.
