Eastern Florida State College Women’s Soccer Team Beats Daytona State, Wins Regular Season Title

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team clinched the Region 8 Conference regular season title on Saturday night with a 3-1 victory over Daytona State College at Titan Soccer Complex.

Freshman Morgan Miller scored twice in the first 20 minutes of the contest and the Titans held a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The game stayed that way until about eight minutes remaining when Aida Illas scored to make it 3-0. Daytona State College would respond with a goal but would get no closer.

After the game, the women’s soccer program recognized sophomores Klesha Darroux, Ebony Wiseman, Cristina Garriga, Sophia Kenny and Leslie Tapia who played their final regular-season game at Titan Soccer Complex.

The win is the 10th of the season for the No. 9 Titans and will be the No. 1 seed in the Region 8 Conference Tournament which begins Friday night at Titan Soccer Complex.

Daytona State, the No. 2 seed, will face No. 3 Broward College at 5:30 p.m. and the Titans will play the winner of Monday’s play-in game between Polk State College and ASA Miami at 8 p.m.

The winners will square off for the title on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
