ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – The UCF football team was slotted at No. 12 in the initial College Football Playoff ranking for the 2018 season, which was released Tuesday night.
UCF (7-0) started last season ranked No. 18 with an identical 7-0 mark. The Knights’ No. 12 rank is the highest ever in the initial CFP ranking for a team not from the Big Ten, Pac-12, ACC, SEC or Big 12.
The Knights, ranked No. 9 in the most recent Associated Press and USA Today Coaches’ polls, are in action again Thursday night, hosting Temple at Spectrum Stadium. The contest vs. the Owls will put the winner in first place in the American Athletic Conference East Division standings. Both UCF and Temple are 4-0 in conference play.
Kickoff for UCF-Temple Thursday night is set for 7:30 p.m. The game will air nationally on ESPN. The radio broadcast can be heard locally on FM 96.9 The Game and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app.
