BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Recently the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a theft report where someone had stolen postal packages from the front porch of a residence in Port St. John.
The victim of the theft posted surveillance video of the incident on the Neighborhood Watch Facebook Page asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the “Porch Pirate.”
The following day the victim received information identifying Samantha Martin as a possible suspect in the case.
The victim quickly provided the information to the Sheriff’s Office who immediately initiated a search for the potential suspect.
As a result of the information, Martin was later located by our team and a traffic stop was conducted on her vehicle. A subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle yielded the victim’s property and a small bag of methamphetamine.

In addition to the victim’s packages being located, another package was located that revealed an additional victim in the Port St. John area.
Martin, 33, was taken into custody on two counts of Burglary and Theft as well as Possession of Methamphetamine. Martin was booked into the Brevard County Jail on the charges with a $13,000 Bond.
As I always say, “it takes a community to protect a community,” and this case is a great example of just how true that statement is! It is also a true testament of what happens when Citizens and Law Enforcement partner together to keep criminals off our streets.
