BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – John McDonald & the Mango Men are set to cook up a fun, well-seasoned dish of Floribbean-style Rock during the 4th annual Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival, March 7 through 10 at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera, Florida.
As a solo performer, singer-songwriter John McDonald is steadily gaining a reputation as a distinctive vocal talent and charismatic entertainer on the Space Coast.
Although new to Brevard’s thriving music scene, he has not gone unnoticed.
Veteran drummer and producer Todd Charron said McDonald immediately showed us all how talented and entertaining he is.
“John can really captivate an audience…an amazing voice,” said Joel Greenblatt of the Space Coast Jazz Society.
McDonald performs at several Brevard venues including Lou’s Blues, Manatee Cove, Meg O’Malley’s, Squid Lips Cocoa, The Old Fish House, Norman’s, Siggy’s and Oasis.
Squid Lips Melbourne GM Don Martin said McDonald is a first-rate entertainer.

For the Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival, McDonald will renew his 20-year collaboration with master percussionist Kevin Kornicki and guitar virtuoso Dale Cinski.
The bandmates will meld idiosyncratic musical tastes and a collective passion for tropically inflected jazz, reggae, rock, Latin and world beat rhythms into a fun, infectious party atmosphere.
Kornicki, a graduate of Philadelphia’s acclaimed Settlement Music School, is a drummer and audio engineer, who has toured extensively in North America, Europe and Asia.
As a composer, Kornicki’s soundtrack credits include CSI Miami, History Channel and A&E. Kornicki plays a wide variety of acoustic and electronic drums, including the Zendrum.
Although Cinski cites guitar heroes like Keith Richards, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Gaines of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Chet Atkins as influences, his life-long obsession with the guitar was stirred by his home town idol – jazz superstar George Benson. After seeing Benson in concert at age 12, Cinski slipped backstage to meet him.

For the next two years, Cinski studiously devoted himself to emulating Benson’s smooth style and once again mustered up the moxie to track Benson down at his hotel. Since that encounter, Benson has been Cinski’s benevolent mentor and close friend.
Like the burgeoning style of Floribbean cuisine which combines Florida cooking with the flavors of the Caribbean Islands, Latin America and Africa, Cinski’s eclectic blend of flamenco, jazz and rock complements Kornicki’s hard-driving Afro-Cuban percussion.
Their creative synergy can be heard on McDonald’s CD Right Place, Right Time.
For John McDonald & the Mango Men, the happy result of their enduring personal and musical relationship is a dynamic, high-energy style of music featuring a distinctly Floribbean fusion of reggae, rock, jazz, Latin and world beat. You may be tempted to sip a Mojito or swill your favorite tropical cocktail as you party to their delectable Floribbean Rock.
You can enjoy the live musical performances of John McDonald & The Mango Men at the Space Coast Seafood & Music Festival during its 4-day run March 7-10 at Space Coast Daily Park in Viera, Florida.

High-quality vendors will serve shrimp cocktails, prepared with fresh, still warm shrimp with lots of spices, cocktail sauce and drawn butter.
Additional menu items, among others, include fish tacos and smoked whiting with drawn butter.

Willy T’s Crab Shack, home of Maryland-style crab cakes will offer their legendary authentic Maryland-style crab cake sandwich, Willy T’s chefs start with generous portions of lump blue crab meat, to which is added the company’s “World Famous Secret Family Recipe” spices before being deep-fried to perfection.
