BREVARD COUNTY • SCOTTSMOOR, FLORIDA –  I was honored to be in attendance on Saturday as our UH-1C Huey Helicopter conducted a flyover for the audience at the 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

The ceremony’s keynote speaker, retired U.S. Army Col. Hal Kushner, MD, spoke about how his life was forever changed when he became a prisoner of war while serving our country during the Vietnam War.

As I listened to his heartbreaking story and pride in service, I was reminded that as a nation we can never forget the incredibly courageous men and women who gave their lives in the Armed Forces and who made so many sacrifices while protecting our great nation.

I would like to thank everyone who made today’s commemoration such a special service, Col. Kushner for his patriotism, our Aviation Unit for the incredible flyover, and all of our Vietnam Veterans and their families who served our country.
