Robert Jerome Barrows Passes Away March 6 at Age 73, Worked at Patrick Air Force Base

Robert Jerome Barrows, 73, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his residence.
Born, May 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Richard Barrows and Katharine Sawyer. He served in the US Air Force for 21 years and later worked at Patrick Air Force Base as a civilian ground support for astronauts.
He received the Silver Snoopy award presented by astronaut Jim Kelly, a special honor awarded to NASA employees and contractors for outstanding achievements related to human flight safety or mission success. He was a deacon at New Fellowship Baptist Church in Titusville, Florida and was a member of Covenant Church in Lincolnton.
His wife of 51 years Linda Leathlean Barrows of the home, three daughters, Delinda O’Neil of Lincolnton, Jamie Barrows of Lenoir and Penny Ervin and husband Jason of Lincolnton; a son, Jeff Barrows and wife Jill of Mooresville; two brothers, Jimmy Barrows and wife Bonnie of Standish, Maine and Richard Barrows and wife Paulette of Titusville, FL; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive him.
The funeral will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Covenant Church Pastor Mike Devine and Pastor Nathan Grooms officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 pm at the church prior to the service.
