SPACE COAST DAILY TV SPECIAL PRESENTATION

SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The 5–1 Space Coast Tar Heels host the 3-4 Broward Barracudas tonight. Alan Zlotorzynski is on the call.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– After losing a game to their rivals they should have won to kick off a three-game road trip on Feb. 2,  the Space Coast Tar Heels could have folded like a cheap tent and started playing the blame game.

But they didn’t and instead finished the rest of the road trip 2-0 as they took down Polk County 30-8 and the No.1 team in the league, the Miami Chiefs, 38-28.

The Tar Heels return home 5-1 but are third overall in the Florida Champions Football League’ s North Division as the Orlando Phantom hold the tiebreaker due to their win over Space Coast.

An offense that sputtered to start the season has caught fire. Quarterback Matt Parsons has 1,124 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns.

Pass catchers Jimmy Kelly and Jorden Mullins have been the beneficiaries as the two have combined for 440 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

The straw that stirs the team’s drink is coach David Dye’s defense.

The Tar Heels apply pressure up front, are physical at the point of contact and close quickly on balls in the air.

The team has forced opposing quarterbacks into nine interceptions and forced six fumbles on the season. Kalil Owens Sr. has three picks and a Pick-6 on the year while Demetrius Dees and Josh Hartfield have two interceptions each this season.

SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Space Coast Tarheels, a member of the Florida Champion Football League, traveled to Lake Brantley to face the Orlando Phantoms.

Dees leads the Tar Heels with 16 total tackles while Sylvester ‘The Quarterback’ Eaton leads the team with three sacks.

The Tar Heels will look to move to 6-1 tonight as the host the Broward Barracudas at Astronaut High School.

The Barracudas are 3-4 this season and have lost two of their past three. Tonight could be an opportunity for the Tar Heels defense to increase those INT totals.

No Broward quarterback has more than three passing touchdowns this season while as a team, the Barracudas have thrown 13 picks.
