Blue Origin is expanding its presence at Space Coast Regional Airport while continuing reconstruction efforts at its New Glenn launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and growing its manufacturing operations on Merritt Island.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Blue Origin is strengthening its Space Coast footprint with new operations at Space Coast Regional Airport, ongoing reconstruction of its New Glenn launch complex and expanded manufacturing operations on Merritt Island.
Space Coast Regional Airport Director Kevin Daugherty announced that the agreement is pending for Blue Origin to lease space inside the airport’s former terminal building at 1 Bristow Way.
Under the proposed arrangement, Blue Origin would make improvements to the building before occupying the space. Daugherty provided a brief update about the company’s airport activities during a recent meeting, though few details have been publicly disclosed.
The airport has already entered into a temporary space-use agreement with Blue Origin for approximately nine acres off Challenger Avenue.
The company is using the property as a 24-hour contractor parking and staging area.
Blue Origin will pay $16,880 per month under the agreement, which runs through June 30, 2027.

The staging area is located roughly a half-mile from Blue Origin’s new light-manufacturing facility inside the former Eckler’s warehouse, distribution and trucking complex along Grissom Parkway.
That facility borders airport property and is expected to employ approximately 100 workers, with further expansion planned.
Daugherty said Blue Origin is also continuing to evaluate Space Perspective’s former balloon-manufacturing facility near the old airport terminal.
The approximately 700-foot-long white tent structure could support light manufacturing or logistics operations.
The airport expansion comes as Blue Origin advances major construction projects at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Those plans include a new vertical integration facility supporting the company’s New Glenn 9×4 rocket configuration.
Blue Origin also plans to construct a payload-processing facility in partnership with the U.S. Space Force.
The facility is expected to support multiple New Glenn configurations as well as other national-security launch providers, further expanding Blue Origin’s role in the Space Coast’s growing commercial and defense aerospace industry.
