Florida Tech Golf Jumps To 4th Place After Day 2 At NCAA National Championship, Eaton Shoots A 70

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA – No. 5 Florida Tech posted the second-best score of the second round at PGA National on Wednesday, propelling the Panthers into fourth place in the standings at the NCAA National Championship.

The Crimson & Gray fired off a team score of 303 (+11), the lowest of the day at PGA’s par-73 Champion Course behind only Indianapolis’ 299. Tech sits at 618 (+34) after 36 holes.

No. 6 UIndy is the leader after round two with a combined score of +21. No. 1 Barry is second at +26 while Cal State San Marcos, the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, is third at +29.

No. 2 Dallas Baptist, No. 7 Lynn, and No. 27 SW Oklahoma State are tied for fifth at +38. No. 12 Limestone rounds out the top-8 with a score of +39.

Despite a tough stretch on the front 9, Noelle Beijer closed out the second round with a birdie to end at 78 and move into a tie for 10th at +5.

Lauren Watson improved on her day one performance by shooting a 78 on Wednesday to slide into a tie for 50th at +15.

After a tough opening round, Megan Dennis (+18) bounced back with a solid 77 today to jump into a tie for 61st.

Paola Ortiz notched an 84 on Wednesday and slipped into a tie for 75th at +20.

The third round of the national championship commences Thursday morning. Florida Tech will tee off the round at 9 a.m. off hole 1.
