Florida Tech Grabs Two-First Place Finishes After Day 1 At Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – Florida Tech women’s rowing had an excellent first day at the Dad Vail Regatta as the team managed to grab two first-place finishes and a runner-up result in their races.
The JV4 started of the day for the Panthers as they put together a respectable run in which had them cross the line in 8:50.372 which was good for second in their heat. Thanks to their high finish the team has advanced to the JV4 final 1.
Next up was the V4 who made it look easy as they won their heat with plenty of open water till their next competitors. The women clocked an 8:23.393 which was over 12 seconds faster than any other boat in the event, no matter its heat.
The V8 also posted the top time in their event for all heats as they finished in 7:24.794 but that was only a hair faster than heat 2 winner’s UC San Diego as they finished in 7:24.999.
Florida Tech will look to bring home some hardware Saturday, May 11, as the team races in the second and final day of the Dad Vail Regatta.
