Senior midfielder earns second career All-American honor

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech senior Sam Schiano has been named to the IWLCA’s Division II All-America Second Team. She becomes the third players to earn multiple All-American honors in her career.

Schiano was a first-team All-SSC and IWLCA All-Region selection this season.

She recorded 51 points in 2019 on 44 goals and seven assists. She also finished with 78 draw controls, 40 ground balls, and 36 caused turnovers. Schiano was one of 44 players this year selected as a 2019 IWLCA Senior All-Star.

The Perry Hall, Maryland native etched her name in the Florida Tech record books over her four years. Schiano is the program’s all-time leader in draw controls (255), ground balls (204), and caused turnovers (159). She also ranks fourth in program history in total points (161) and goals (143).

Additionally, Schiano holds the program’s single-season records for ground balls (71) and caused turnovers (48), as well as the single-game records for draw controls (12) and ground balls (8).
