BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Sam Schiano will close out her illustrious career with one more game as she was selected to the Division II South roster for the 2019 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.

Schiano is one of 44 players chosen to compete in the 2019 Senior All-Star games for DI, II and III. The players are divided into two teams: North and South. The Perry Hall, Maryland product becomes the third player in program history to earn a spot on the All-Star roster, joining former teammates Allie Modica (2017) and Sara Grenier (2018).

Schiano finished her career with a 51-point season in 2019 on 44 goals and seven assists. She also recorded 78 draw controls, 40 ground balls and 36 caused turnovers in 2019. Schiano, who scored multiple goals in 13 out of 16 games this season, recently earned First Team All-SSC honors for the third time in her career.

This year, the midfielder started all 16 games for the Panthers and wrapped up her four years starting all 71 games she played in, tied for most in program history.

The 2018 All-American etched her name in the Florida Tech record books over her four years and ended as one of the best players to ever don the Crimson & Gray. Schiano is the program’s all-time leader in draw controls (255), ground balls (204), and caused turnovers (159). She also ranks fourth in total points (161) and goals (143).

Additionally, Schiano holds the program’s single-season records for ground balls (71) and caused turnovers (48), as well as the single-game records for draw controls (12) and ground balls (8).
