Vladimir Tiagunov is Redefining Conventional Music for a Modern Audience

Short of being clairvoyant, many of us cannot predict what the future has in store for conventional music lovers. While skeptics reiterate their premonitions about the future of “conventional music industry,” a legion of artists is already redefining the notion.
Among them is 29-year-old Vladimir Borisovich Tiagunov, a music laureate of numerous regional and national competitions. Born in Russia, Tiagunov has attended the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts under the tutelage of Honored Artist of Russia, Professor Yevgeny Levitan.
A global icon to reckon with, world-renowned Piano performer, Tiagunov won the first prize in the International music competition”21st Century Art” in Kiev, Ukraine in 2010.
Tiagunov is an unconventional piano artist, honing a unique repertoire and thorough understanding of traditional and classical music. According to him, music is a language that doesn’t need words to convey feelings.
Carving his niche in the field if music, he has emerged as a one-of-a-kind piano artist and successfully won a Gold Medal for the best piano technique in the Forte International Competition in Carnegie Hall, 2016.
He is transforming the face of conventional music by making it more intriguing, accessible, and widespread.
Being keen to embrace new trends, Tiagunov decided to push the envelope and go beyond his comfort zone by pursuing a career as a solo pianist. Many laureates of International Piano competitions were trained under his guidance.
Despite having his oeuvre anchored in classical music, Tiagunov never abhorred the idea of experimenting with the contemporary forms of music. Sound has waves, but Tiagunov’s touch created ripples.
Each endeavor he embarked on was sculpted towards respecting the traditional art forms and infusing interest in the minds and hearts of the millennials.
As a Soloist and chamber musician, Tiagunov has created a widespread audience and given recitals at leading venues such a Carnegie Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art Concert Hall, University of F. Chopin Concert Hall (Poland), Concert Hall in Kiev (Ukraine) et al.
The piano allowed him to reach out to more audiences worldwide, bridging the age barriers as he calls it – ‘where millennials can express their emotions and find a place in his music.’
Be establishing a mélange between trance and essence sense and going beyond striking the right chords of harmony of the ever-changing modern music, Tiagunov has emerged as one of the finest and undisputed Piano Masters in the world.
He is currently the church musician at Cure of Arts Church in Merrick, New York where he performs on a regular basis. He has enormous experience as choir accompanist and a wide repertoire.
Nurtured under the tutelage of his father, he became a prolific piano player at the tender age of 9. His music is explosive, inviting, and yet introspective.
He has a vast number of recordings under his belt that includes the “Wanderer Fantasy” by Schubert, “Appassionata” by Beethoven and others.
Having bagged numerous accolades and prestigious awards in his kitty, besides winning hearts with his outstanding performances across the globe, Tiagunov has contributed immensely to International music.
